Vegan Spicy Ramen at Ramen Hood
Hungry and searching for food, I am asking myself, "where can I get some vegan food around in Downtown LA?" I am not here often, I don't know where to go. I head down to Grand Central Market because I have been wanting to show Ryan this amazing location of a variety of foods. Looking at our options and thinking that I am going to have to resort to a Margherita pizza, Ramen Hood appears in sight. Bright white lettering with a green arrow below and then I see "100% vegan." My heart jumped with excitement. I love ramen. Learning that it was all vegan made it better.
I'm serious. Ryan and I enjoyed this so much. They gave plenty of ramen in the bowl, the toppings were delicious, and the broth was rich and kinda creamy. It was sunflower seed broth, and it is so creative and savory. We both ordered their Spicy Ramen because we are the spicy folk. It had classic toppings like bean sprouts, scallions, nori, and spicy paste. But that vegan egg on top looks too good to be true. Staring at the image, it's hard to believe that 'egg' is made from soy milk. Nowhere near the flavor of what an actual egg tastes like of course, but the vegan egg has a lot to offer and is a perfect topping to complete the vegan ramen meal.
If you're in LA county, I highly recommend going to Ramen Hood. Their service is quick and friendly. The food is delicious. And there is something really fun about sitting at a bar top enjoying delicious vegan ramen in a bustling city.
