My Favorite Dinner at Real Food Daily
*This is not a sponsored post.*
I wanted to take my best friend to this cozy vegan restaurant in Pasadena, CA. It's called Real Food Daily, and it is 100% vegan. I have eaten here a couple of times before, and I am never disappointed with my meal. The ambiance of the room is bright but homey. Walls are white with hand painted blue flowers, and the tables resemble furniture one would see in their own dining room. RFD's design makes me feel like I'm eating food at a ‘hip’ home. The front patio is gorgeous and reminds me of a cute oasis I’d want in my backyard. A beautiful tree stands inside the patio and presents itself as a design feature, allowing light and breeze. The best part about their front patio is that it is pet-friendly! The first time I ate at RFD, I took my pupper Nico and enjoyed the meal with my favorite little furry guy.
(Below are the dishes my best friend and I enjoyed.)
Banh Mi (seasonal special)
Real Food Burger (with the added works)
Let's begin with the nachos. We decided to have this as our appetizer because I love nachos. They are probably my favorite dish in the world, and I can eat them any time of the day. Switching to a vegan diet, I was concerned that I couldn't enjoy nachos again but boy I was wrong. These nachos were so delicious. Melted cashew cheese is not a disappointment, and it satisfies my cravings for that nacho cheese I used to enjoy before.
I ate the Banh Mi sandwich for my main course. This was a very tasty dish. A part of me wished that they had chosen a different ingredient instead of the tofu to resemble meat because as a vegan, I don't want to have to eat tofu all the time. But the lemongrass flavor the tofu absorbed made it a little better. Overall, the flavors from the Banh Mi were as tasty and relatable to a non-vegan banh mi as it can get.
My best friend had the Real Food Burger for his main dish. He was so happy with this burger. I took a bite of it myself, and flavors exploded in my mouth. I was impressed with how they were able to make it taste kind of like a meaty burger. He decided to add the extra toppings for an added charge, making it a pretty hefty burger. I wouldn't have been able to finish such a big burger by myself but he devoured it all.
There are three locations: Pasadena, West Hollywood, and at LAX. I visited the Pasadena location.
