My Favorite Meal at Sage Vegan Bistro

Sage Vegan Bistro has recently become one of my favorite restaurants. My best friend and I have eaten here at least once a week for the past month. We got hooked on two dishes and can't get enough of them. There are three locations: West, Downtown, and Old Town Pasadena. I love going to the Old Town Pasadena location. It's located in an alley and far away from the busy Colorado Boulevard. The alley has a square in the middle with events that occasionally pop up for entertainment. It's a sweet spot for dinner and a show.
The restaurant has a sweet industrial meets eco-friendly living interior space. Dining-in is like a communal experience at some random house with delicious food. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. On warmer nighters, there are large windows left wide open so that everyone can feel the summer breeze.
One of my favorite perks about this restaurant is that their patio is dog friendly. I am a huge animal lover, and so I always want to take my dog everywhere with me. Though I understand health codes are very important for everyone's safety, I am a little extra happy when restaurants have dog friendly patios. It's fun for me and my dog.
There are a couple of dishes over the past month that my best friend and I have tasted. But below I listed my absolute perfect meal.
Fried Brussel Sprouts
Hot Wing Wrap
Butternut Squash Ravioli
For those of you whom are 21 and over, the Kombucha Flight is the way to go for drinks. The flavors are delicious, and the variety is great. Some of the kombucha flavors are on the sweeter side, and others are on the dryer side. But my favorite was their blueberry ginger kombucha. Sweet and tasty with a kick.
Fried Brussel Sprouts. Fried Brussel Sprouts. FRIED BRUSSEL SPROUTS. Wow, now I don't know why something so simple as this appetizer is so amazing. Maybe it's the lime and sea salt flavor soaked by the brussel sprouts. Maybe it's the habanero cream cheese. Or maybe its the beautiful combination.
The Hot Wing Wrap is the entree I choose if I want to eat something spicy. I love all foods spicy, and boy oh boy does this dish have a kick. Stuffed with the same buffalo cauliflower wings as the appetizer, it's super filling and super yummy. This is my go-to lunch choice.
The star dish is the Butternut Squash Ravioli. It is only offered during the dinner times. This ravioli is my favorite dish and will probably remain that way. It is salty yet sweet because of the balsamic. Crispy on the outside with a soft butternut squash filling. It's topped with pesto and a lovely vegan crema. All of the dressings make it seem like it would be soggy and too soft a texture in the mouth but no, this dish is the perfect combination of everything good in food.
